About Our Coaches:
Christina (Tina) Boosahda (voice teacher, coach, and vocal technician), is a versatile performer hailed by the Wall Street Journal for her "lyrical warmth and expressive storytelling." Equally at home in opera and musical theatre, her stage credits include Fantine (Les Misérables), The Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Mrs. Anderseen (A Little Night Music), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Elvira (Don Giovanni), and The Governess (The Turn of the Screw). A champion of contemporary opera, she made her Houston Grand Opera debut as Bita Parvin in The Bricklayer and has appeared in numerous world premieres (LA, TX, and NYC). She has a BM (Ithaca College) and MM (University of Houston) in Voice, and is dedicated to mentoring young artists, coaching auditions, role preparation, and guiding students toward confident, successful collegiate and professional performance careers.
Jennifer Girardi (actor and director), received her B.A. in Theater from George Mason University, and studied at the Maggie Flanigan Studio and Atlantic Acting School in New York City. While in NYC, she performed on the stage and in film professionally. She also studied classical ballet, jazz and modern dance at the Classical Ballet Academy, Theatre of NoVa, George Mason University and the Mark Morris Dance Company. In the D.C. area, she has taught acting, improv and movement at Dodgeball Theatre Company, acting and Broadway dance at the Classical Ballet Academy and Theatre. Jenny also studied Eastern Medicine at the MD University of Integrative Health, with the goal of treating artists holistically, focusing on the mind/body connection.
Karen Wright (actor and director), has a BFA and MFA in acting and directing. She has taught acting at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, the Youth Film Academy in Virginia, and now privately coaches high school students preparing for college auditions. Before starting a family, she acted professionally in theaters around the country and in showcases all over NYC, as well as a guest appearance on NYPD Blue, and voice acting on The King of Queens. This summer, she is directing Guys and Dolls for the Vienna Youth Players. In her inaugural season with VYP, she directed a spectacular production of Anastasia, that captured the spirit and romance of the beloved story.
