Tamra Glaser is the Founder and Director of "College Audition Mentors" and has spent more than 25 years helping students gain admission to some of the nation’s most competitive Musical Theatre, Acting, Vocal Performance, and Theatre programs. A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, Tamra is a professional singer and actress best known for starring as Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA opposite Michael Crawford. Her performing career has included musical theatre, opera, concerts, television, recording, and international appearances. Tamra’s students have been accepted into major BFA and BA Musical Theatre, Acting, Theatre, Dance, and BM Vocal Performance programs across the world. She is known for combining professional-level artistic training with strategic college audition guidance, helping students identify their strengths, develop competitive audition portfolios, and present their most authentic work. As an independent coach, Tamra has no financial affiliations with colleges or audition organizations, allowing her recommendations to remain objective and focused solely on the student’s best interests.
Wildcard
🌊 Former Christine Daaé by profession, beach lover by choice. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll usually find me near the ocean....swimming, riding waves, enjoying a sunset and recharging for the next round of coaching sessions!
Specializations
I believe that successful auditions begin long before audition day. My role is not simply to help students choose songs and monologues. I help them develop the technical skills, artistic confidence, and strategic preparation necessary to compete in today’s highly selective college audition environment.
Every student is different. Rather than trying to fit students into a predetermined formula, I work to identify what makes each performer unique and build an audition portfolio that showcases their individual strengths.
My coaching combines vocal technique, repertoire selection, monologue coaching, audition strategy, and college guidance. I emphasize healthy training, thoughtful preparation, authenticity, and long-term artistic growth. The goal is not simply gaining admission to a program, but helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive as young artists.
