Program Recognition
•BFA Musical Theatre training through Molloy University/CAP21 blends a traditional Long Island campus with NYC conservatory studio work
•Incoming cohorts aim for approximately 36 students, then divide into smaller studio sections
Training
•Students train in singing, acting, dance, voice and speech, movement, script analysis, music theory, audition technique, and private voice
•Studio class sizes typically range from 10-18 students, with one-on-one private voice lessons
•Performance opportunities begin sophomore year with required performance projects each semester; juniors and seniors are eligible for Mainstage productions
Professional Development
•First-year students study at the Rockville Centre campus and travel to the Manhattan Center two days per week; upperclass students are in NYC three days per week
•Senior Showcase is required for all seniors and is described by the program as one of NYC's best-attended BFA musical theatre showcases
