Use the decision matrix
Score schools against the factors that matter most so final-round choices are easier to compare.
- 1
Open the Decision Matrix
Open Compare, then select the Decision Matrix tab next to Compare Table. Score each school from 1 to 10 on the factors that matter to you, and the matrix weighs those scores and ranks your strongest overall fits automatically.
- 2
Set your criteria and weights
Open Criteria & Weights to make the matrix yours. The default criteria are Program Fit, Location, Cost, Campus Vibe, Scholarship, and Faculty. Rename them, add new ones, remove what does not matter, and give the most important criteria a heavier weight so they count for more in the final ranking.
- 3
Add the schools you are deciding between
Use Add Schools to pull options from All Schools, any of your saved lists, or your Submissions. Keep the matrix focused on the short list you are actually choosing between, and remove any school once it is out of the running.
