Jacob Presson

I’m an NYC-based performer, writer and teaching artist.

I hold an MFA in Acting from The New School and certificates in acting from the British American Drama Academy (BADA) and The Powerhouse Theater Training Program. Post-graduate professional development includes the National Alliance of Acting Teachers’ Teacher Development Program and Lincoln Center Education. My areas of expertise include Classical Theatre, Script Analysis, Clown, and Lecoq.

I’m also a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers, a volunteer at the 52nd Street Project, a teaching artist for Hudson Valley Shakespeare, an associate artist with Less Than Rent Theatre, and a member of Actors’ Equity.

As an actor, I’ve performed regionally and in NYC at 59E59, New Ohio Theatre, Under St. Marks, the cell, Shakespeare on the Sound, and New York Stage and Film, as well as with Breaking and Entering Theatre Collective, Horse Trade Theatre Group, Bridge Productions Group, Theatre under the Moonlight, and others.

My play, Very Bad Words, played to sold-out audiences at the NYC Fringe Festival and was subsequently produced by The Semicolon Theatre Company. My work has also been developed with BZ genesis WORKS at Playwrights Horizons, The Pantry, and Wide Eyed Productions. My first film, “MAYDAY MAYDAY” is in post-production, and my mockumentary pilot, Floaties!, was a semifinalist for the 2025 WeScreenplay TV Pilot Screenwriting Lab.
