Monologues

Requirements

Two Contrasting monologues, approx 1.5-2 min each (for scholarship audition)

Should show different aspects of your performance skills

One serious and one comedic/humorous piece, OR one contemporary and one classical piece (e.g., Shakespeare, Moliere)

Alternative Option

May substitute one monologue with 16 measures or one verse of a song from a musical (not a top 40 hit)

Material Selection

Choose material from plays with fully developed characters

Avoid speech/forensics pieces, novels, stories, and poems

Additional Materials

Photo

Headshot, dance shot, selfie, or any picture that shows the real you

Resume

Experience and interests in theatre and/or dance
