Complete both the WVU university application and the separate School of Theatre & Dance portfolio review registration on Acceptd

You may secure the portfolio review before or after completing the WVU application, but admission cannot be finalized until WVU admits you

Present the portfolio as a physical portfolio, a digital slide presentation, or a combination of the two

Media uploads must be submitted at least two days before an on-campus interview date when one is scheduled

What's The Process

Audition Process

The BFA in Design & Technology requires an interview to present your portfolio for admission consideration

Three options are offered: a live interview during an audition day event, a virtual submission only, or a private interview arranged on a weekday

A live interview during an audition day event is the preferred option so you can meet faculty and see the facilities

Audition Expectations

The interview is a 5 to 10-minute presentation sharing your passion for the arts and what being a theatre practitioner means to you

Faculty want to see passion and enthusiasm regardless of the media you choose; even work made for fun counts

Virtual submissions are reviewed with the next on-campus event group — a portfolio submitted January 1 is reviewed with the January group

Portfolio review registration for 2027 admission opens September 1, 2026
