PROGRAM RECOGNITION

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
•By sophomore year, students can begin stage managing and taking on leadership roles in the main stage season
•Students write and direct shows, perform, and serve as dramaturgs in productions
•Capstone project in senior year: choose to direct, stage manage, or dramaturg a show in the lab theatre or main stage season
•Creative Consultants program pairs students with successful alumni for mentorship
•West Virginia Public Theatre — a professional theatre operated through the College — uses talents of both equity actors and students
FACILITIES
•Canady Creative Arts Center: 5 performance spaces, 33 individual practice rooms, 50 classrooms and studios
•On-campus costume and scene shops, drafting studio, and the Brown CAD and Rendering Lab
•Evansdale Library houses a script collection with access to industry-specific journals and magazines
•Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST)
DEGREE FLEXIBILITY
•Degree meshes well with minors and double majors, increasing appeal to graduate schools and employers
•Ohio residents may qualify for in-state tuition rates through the Ohio Tuition Reciprocity Agreement
