Good to Know

Application Logistics

Step 1: Apply to West Texas A&M University via the Texas Common Application

Step 2: Complete the audition form via Acceptd and request an audition date

Apply before the deadline for the date you wish to audition

Admission Pathway

Dual admission — students must apply and be admitted to both the university and the School of Music

All prospective music students must audition regardless of their chosen degree plan

Placement

Admitted students take music theory and aural-skills placement diagnostics at orientation — for course placement only, not admission

Transfer Pathway

WT publishes an Amarillo College-to-WT transfer plan naming Music Performance, but the posted plan documents (2012/2014 editions) are no longer reachable on WT's site. Placement remains subject to the School of Music audition and area-specific requirements; confirm current course applicability with advising.
