Repertoire

Audition on your principal instrument or voice following the School of Music instrument-family guidelines

Two contrasting works, etudes, or movements that show off your playing ability

Scales & Technique

Major scales appropriate to your instrument (range and octaves as you are comfortable)

Sight-Reading

A short sight-reading excerpt may be included

Accompaniment

Accompanist not required and will not affect audition results

Apply before the deadline for the date you wish to audition

Admission Pathway

Dual admission — students must apply and be admitted to both the university and the School of Music

All prospective music students must audition regardless of their chosen degree plan

Placement

Admitted students take music theory and aural-skills placement diagnostics at orientation — for course placement only, not admission
