Application Logistics
•Step 1: Apply to West Texas A&M University via the Texas Common Application
•Step 2: Complete the audition form via Acceptd and request an audition date
•Apply before the deadline for the date you wish to audition
Admission Pathway
•Dual admission — students must apply and be admitted to both the university and the School of Music
•All prospective music students must audition regardless of their chosen degree plan
Placement
•Admitted students take music theory and aural-skills placement diagnostics at orientation — for course placement only, not admission
Studio Admission
•Only students who have passed freshman Theory I and II with a grade of A are reviewed for admittance to the composition studio
•All prospective music students must still complete a principal-instrument audition to enter the School of Music
