No interview and portfolio is required for the initial application. The optional scholarship review (interview) is separate from the internal interview and portfolio gate students complete after enrollment.Gateway source

Describe theatrical background

Resume

Include pertinent experience and training as a designer, technician, and/or stage manager

Portfolio

Small portfolio of photos and/or documents representing artistic output

May include theatrical work, drawing, painting, sculpture, creative writing, sketches, technical drawings, production photos, or organizational materials

Transfer Pathway

Transfer students may be accepted into the Design/Technology/Stage Management program after university admission plus a successful interview and portfolio review. Wright State states that transfer credits from accredited coursework with a C or better are generally accepted, with eligibility determined by the Registrar.

What's The Process

Audition Process

Admission to the program is at the discretion of the faculty

Transfer/continuing students in sophomore year or above complete a 15-20 minute interview and portfolio presentation with faculty

Audition Expectations

Interviews are held primarily in person on campus

Virtual interview available upon request

All materials must be submitted no later than two weeks before the interview date

Post-Enrollment

After freshman year, students must interview and show a portfolio to remain in the program

All Design and Technology majors present a portfolio for evaluation at the end of each year of study
