Optional Prescreen Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

This prescreen is optional — anyone may submit one, nobody has to, and skipping it carries no penalty. Students who skip it go straight to the audition.

Songs

MTCP Song Option A

Two Contrasting Songs

At least one song should be a Musical Theatre/Broadway song

One song should be a ballad and one an uptempo

One song written prior to 1970 (either the ballad or the uptempo, your choice)

One song written after 1970, contrasting the style of the first

Must sing to musical accompaniment (live or pre-recorded) — no a cappella

Live piano accompaniment is provided on campus; a cappella singing is not permitted

In-Person Dance Placement

In-person auditioners take a live dance audition for placement purposes rather than performing the set video routine

Change into regular clothes for the remainder of the audition
