Program Recognition
•Offered through WMU's NASD-accredited Department of Dance.
Training
•18-credit-hour Dance Minor for students who want to keep dancing as an avocation alongside another major.
•Coursework draws on the department's ballet, jazz, and modern technique sequences; enrollment is limited (capped at 50, with a waiting list) and roughly 55 students pursue dance as a minor.
Performance & Productions
•Minors can take part in department performance outlets, including the student-run Orchesis Dance Society, with concerts staged in the Gilmore Theatre Complex.
Facilities
•Access to the Dorothy U. Dalton Center dance studios and a newer Dunbar Hall studio, all with sprung, vinyl-covered floors.
