Application Logistics
•You may audition before applying to WIU — you do not have to be accepted to the university at the time of your audition, and if an offer is made WIU directs you to Admissions to apply
•Apply to WIU through the university application portal
•Sign up for every audition option (on-campus, partner events, and video submission) through the WIU BFA Musical Theatre Audition Sign-Up form
•Complete the separate WIU BFA Musical Theatre Audition Form before or at the same time as your audition

-On-campus auditions at WIU (see the Dates tab)
-College Audition Project (CAP) United Auditions in St. Louis, MO — November 12-15, 2026
-Illinois High School Theatre Festival — January 2027, generally the 2nd weekend; sign up through your school for the Friday-morning auditions
-National Unified Auditions — February 2027, generally the first week; Chicago is the only Unifieds city where WIU auditions
-Video submissions accepted for students unable to attend in person
•No school-specific Acceptd or SlideRoom portal; video materials are submitted by email and in-person auditions are registered through WIU's form
•Program uses Musical Theatre Common Pre-Screen requirements as the audition format, but no prescreen is required and it is not connected to Common App
Important Notes
•Free "Day in the Life" campus visit experience available by request
•Visit can include classes, theatre spaces, faculty/students, a rehearsal or performance, and meetings with Admissions and Financial Aid
•Custom campus visits also available with advance notice during the academic year
