Scholarship Audition and Interview Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Prepare two contrasting memorized pieces from published theatrical works

Pieces may contrast comedic/dramatic, classical/contemporary, or musical theatre/legit styles

Maximum 3 minutes total

One reference letter from a director, choreographer, or performing arts instructor who knows the applicant's work well

Application Logistics

Apply through the Wittenberg application or Common App; admission is rolling through May 1 for fall enrollment

Program entry does not require a separate theatre application

Important Notes

Applicants must be admitted before submitting the separate Fine Arts Award application through the Wittenberg Admission Portal

Required materials are due before or on the audition/interview date

Students may receive only one Fine Arts or Special Interest Award

The published February 23, 2026 award deadline has passed; Wittenberg has not yet published a Fall 2027 award deadline

Transfer Pathway

TRANSFER CREDIT • Students who complete the Ohio Transfer 36 plus an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree bring the full 60 credits toward graduation • Wittenberg may accept up to 94 transfer credits toward the degree • At least 50% of Performance Track major credits must be completed at Wittenberg • Prior theatre coursework may require portfolios or syllabi to determine placement

Audition Process

No performance audition or prescreen is required for program entry

Fine Arts Award applicants complete an optional scholarship audition and interview
