Scholarship Audition, Interview, and Portfolio Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition, interview, and portfolio for scholarship consideration only; they are not required for program admission.

Monologues

Theatre Scholarship Audition

Two short, contrasting, memorized monologues from published plays

Total time should be 2-4 minutes

Interview follows the acting audition

Additional Materials

Letters of Recommendation

Scholarship applicants provide the name, email, and phone number for two references in the scholarship application

Recommendation forms are sent electronically to recommenders after the student applies

Portfolio

Non-actor scholarship applicants may present a portfolio of theatre or related artistic work

Portfolio may include photos, drawings, paperwork, or other evidence of artistic achievement

Auditions and interviews are conducted in person at Wisconsin Lutheran College

Scholarship Info

Theatre Scholarship

Incoming freshmen and transfer students with exceptional dramatic ability may apply and audition for a Theatre Scholarship

Annual value: up to $2,000, renewable for a total value up to $8,000

Applicants must be accepted for admission on or before the scholarship application deadline

Recipients may receive only one fine arts scholarship

Renewal requires a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA and continued participation in theatre coursework, production, or approved program service
