Repertoire
•One movement from a major work such as a concerto, sonata, or concert piece
•One additional piece, excerpt, or etude in any style that best demonstrates your ability (another solo, an etude, a jazz transcription, etc.)
•Brass and woodwinds: chromatic scale and major scales (through four accidentals) across the full range of the instrument, including sight-reading
•Strings: technical proficiency demonstrated through the prepared repertoire, including sight-reading
•Percussion snare: one concert-style etude (Mitchell Peters "Intermediate Snare Drum Studies" or Anthony Cirone "Portraits in Rhythm")
•Percussion rudimental: one solo (Charley Wilcoxon "The All American Drummer" or similar) showing a variety of rudiments, rolls, and flams
•Percussion mallets: one two-mallet solo or etude, all major scales, optional four-mallet solo
•Percussion optional: an additional solo or etude on timpani, drumset, or multi-percussion
•A staff accompanist can be provided; coordinate with the Music Department
