Program Recognition
•Bullet: Wilmington's Creative Presentation and Performance Certificate is designed for students who want to drive engagement and captivate audiences through live and mediated practices; the certificate lets students focus on performance within their existing Theatre major/minor, or in addition to another major/minor, with less time commitment than adding a major/minor
•Bullet: Through the college's experiential learning model, students develop craft and creativity in character development, script analysis, acting theories and techniques, voice and movement, improvisation, and audience connection
Training
•Bullet: Core courses are Introduction to Theatre, Public Speaking, and Acting, with electives such as Theatre for Social Change, Directing I, Advanced Topics in Theatre (Performance Topics), and Directing II
Professional Development
•Bullet: Graduates can use the performer's body, voice, and mind to create believable, multidimensional characters, select warm-up, improvisation, and de-roling exercises to assist with character creation, and build and showcase a portfolio of diverse work in theatre performance
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: 18 credit-hours of on-campus, student-paced coursework with a grade of C or better in each course, culminating in a final portfolio presentation
