Audition Requirements

Songs

Two Contrasting Solos

Perform both selections from memory

Both may be in English; one selection in Italian, Spanish, Latin, French, or German is encouraged

Repertoire

Art songs, musical theatre, spirituals, and folk songs are accepted

Accompaniment

Keyboard accompaniment is preferred; applicants may bring an accompanist or request one

One song may use a track; video applicants should prefer piano tracks

Additional Materials

Repertoire List

Winds: one published solo is preferred; a solo-festival etude is accepted

Percussion: one published solo or etude for snare drum, timpani, and keyboard percussion

Piano: two contrasting standard-repertoire pieces from different style periods, from memory

Guitar: one published solo or etude written or transcribed for classical guitar

Sheet Music (If Performing with an Accompanist at in-Person Auditions)

Bring sheet music for the accompanist, whether provided by the school or your own

Auditions may be completed in person or through distance technology
