Perform from memory two contrasting musical theatre songs, each no more than 1 minute

Selections must be from a stage musical (1920s-present)

Choose material that shows vocal range, vocal style, and characterization

Use live or recorded accompaniment; a cappella singing is not allowed

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue

Perform from memory one contemporary monologue, no more than 1 minute

Must be from a published stage play

What's The Process

Audition Process

No audition required for admission to the AA Musical Theatre program

Apply to Western via the school website and submit an official high school transcript

The Special Ability Grant application asks applicants to upload a video audition

Grant recipients must complete the theatre department's fall and spring production audition process each semester, including dance, acting, vocal, and callback components

Must be enrolled in THEA 2050 Theatre Practice
