No audition required for initial admission to the Theatre major

Declare the major through the Theatre and Dance Office: 360-650-3876

Gateway Progression

After enrollment, Performance students progress through a competitive acting series

Step 1: THTR 160 Introduction to Acting (open to all university students)

Step 2: 200-series (Acting, Voice, Movement) — instructor approval required, up to 48 students per year

Step 3: 300-series — requires completion of all 200-level courses plus a spring audition

Step 4: 400-series Professional Preparation — up to 15 students selected per year

Faculty meet individually with each student each fall to discuss strengths and areas for improvement

Students not selected may receive feedback and re-audition the following year
