PROGRAM RECOGNITION
•Part of the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts, training musical theatre artists for over 55 years
•Partners with six professional companies including The Muny (America's largest outdoor musical theatre), The Rep, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis
TRAINING
•Comparable to a triple major spanning the Conservatory, Department of Music, and Department of Dance
•Rigorous acting sequence parallels BFA Acting — voice/speech, movement, and acting core every semester
•Music training includes theory, piano, private voice, musicianship, and song study (Golden Age through rock)
•Dance training covers ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre dance styles across all four years
•Styles range from Greek and Shakespeare to Sondheim, Disney, and contemporary musical theatre
PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIONS
•Eligible for Conservatory season casting beginning in Year 2
•Casting opportunities in professional musical productions with partner companies
•Recent productions include Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, American Idiot, and Urinetown
