Training
•The 96-credit Ballet emphasis centers intensive ballet technique while maintaining required modern-dance training and exposure to jazz, tap, hip-hop and aerial dance.
•Dance history, anatomy and pedagogy complement daily studio work, and ballet, modern and tap classes use live musical accompaniment.
Choreography & Capstone
•Improvisation and choreography lead to a BFA capstone built around individualized research, original choreography and public presentation.
•Students also practice fundraising, marketing, technical design and budgeting for their creative work.
Facilities
•The Jean and Wells Hobler Center includes a 3,500-square-foot studio with a Harlequin Woodspring sprung floor that can convert into a lighted performance space.
