Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Repertoire

Two early-advanced memorized pieces from contrasting style periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern)

One sight-read piano piece at the late-intermediate / early-advanced level, provided at the audition

Scales and arpeggios demonstrating piano technique fluency

Audition Form

Complete the keyboard studies audition form and bring it to submit at your audition

Audition Process

Schedule a piano audition time for the Browning Center, room 136

International or out-of-state students who cannot audition in person may submit recorded audition materials to the Director of Keyboard Studies — the same requirements apply

Audition Expectations

Perform two early-advanced memorized contrasting-period pieces

Sight-read a provided piece and play scales and arpeggios
