Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Songs

Song Option A

•Two contrasting songs (1 minute maximum each)

•Paired with one contemporary monologue

Song Option B

•One song (1 minute maximum)

•Paired with one contemporary monologue and one dance piece

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue, 1 Min Max

•One contemporary monologue (1 minute maximum)

•Required under both audition options

Dance

Option 2 Only: One Dance Piece, 1 Min Max

•One dance piece (1 minute maximum)

•Only required if choosing Option 2 (song + monologue + dance)

•Not required if choosing Option 1 (two songs + monologue)

•Admission audition required for Musical Theatre starting with 2025-2026

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Option 1: Register for and attend the on-campus audition day at the Val A. Browning Center

•Option 2: Submit a virtual audition through the Airtable form by October 31, 2025

•Utah Unified Auditions participants do not need a separate Weber submission; WSU faculty attend that event

Audition Expectations

•Audition is required for acceptance into Musical Theatre

•Audition or interview is also required for theatre-specific scholarship consideration

•Prepare either two contrasting songs (one minute each) plus one contemporary monologue, or one song, one contemporary monologue, and one dance piece (each one minute maximum)
