Audition Process
•Bullet: Complete the department Audition Request Form and submit by email to Dr. Richard Fountain, Academic Dean (fountainr@wbu.edu)
•Bullet: The department's audition page documents digital/video and on-campus auditions; it is currently labeled 2024–2025, so confirm the active cycle with the Department of Music
•Bullet: Audition on your primary performance medium (voice, piano, or guitar)
•Bullet: Accompanist provided for on-campus auditions — applicants are not required to bring their own
•Bullet: All audition videos are reviewed by a Wayland music faculty panel
•Bullet: Acceptance status and scholarship awards are communicated after the faculty panel review
•Bullet: Prepare material that highlights your best performance capabilities, such as solos, ensemble excerpts, etudes, scale series, hymns, or other repertoire you are comfortable performing
Decisions
•Bullet: Students may receive Probationary Acceptance, with all requirements completed by the end of the second semester to earn Full Acceptance into the music major
