Application

•Apply through the Wayland Baptist University admissions portal

•Rolling admissions — applications accepted until the first day of class

•University application fee: $35 USD (waived for Plainview campus visitors or with school counselor verification of economic need)

Placement

•Admitted music majors complete piano-proficiency and performance-proficiency requirements during the degree — these are course/skill checkpoints, not admission components

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Complete the department Audition Request Form and submit by email to Dr. Richard Fountain, Academic Dean (fountainr@wbu.edu)

•Currently accepting digital/video auditions; on-campus auditions also available

•Audition on your primary performance medium (voice, piano, or guitar)

•Accompanist provided for on-campus auditions — applicants are not required to bring their own

•All audition videos are reviewed by a Wayland music faculty panel

•Acceptance status and scholarship awards are communicated after the faculty panel review

Acceptance

•Students may receive Probationary Acceptance, with all requirements completed by the end of the second semester to earn Full Acceptance into the music major

•All State, Music Major, and Participation awards available

•Often conditional upon participation in a major ensemble

Additional Aid

•Endowed scholarships available based on criteria and student need

•BGCT tuition waiver ($50/semester hour) for students preparing for church-related vocations
