Audition Process
•Prospective music students are encouraged to upload audio or video recordings through the admissions applicant portal
•Submissions are optional but strengthen your application
•Especially important for students planning to declare a music major
•Submitting recordings does not commit you to majoring in music
Audition Expectations
•Perform from memory whenever possible
•Choose contrasting styles to demonstrate breadth of ability
•Live accompaniment at time of recording preferred (piano, guitar, or instrumental ensemble)
Voice Repertoire Suggestions
•Two songs chosen from contrasting categories
•Art songs in English or another language
•Selections from Broadway-style musicals
•Arias from operas, operettas, or oratorios
•Arrangements of popular, jazz, or sacred songs
