Application Logistics

•Apply through the WWU online application

•Rolling admissions with no fixed application deadline

•Application fee: 20 USD (waived for applicants from NAD Adventist academies and colleges)

Post-Admission Requirements

•Admitted music majors complete a keyboard proficiency exam before advancing to upper-division applied study (keyboard-area students are exempt)

•All music majors participate in a primary departmental ensemble each quarter in residence

•Music production majors are exempt from the senior recital and the Music MFT departmental exit exam

What's The Process

University Admission

•No audition is required for admission to Walla Walla University

•Admission is via the university application with a minimum 2.5 high school GPA

•ACT or SAT scores are used for academic advisement and class placement

•One personal reference from a non-family member is required

Formal Acceptance AS a Music Major

•After enrolling, students earn formal acceptance as a music major by passing a performance audition before the music faculty

•The faculty audition is on the student’s primary applied instrument or voice

•Acceptance also requires completing the Theory I and Ear Training I course sequences

•Major standing is a prerequisite for upper-division music courses (except performance ensembles)
