Ballet barre (pliés with port de bras, tendus and dégagés, fondus, ronds de jambe, développés, frappés, grands battements)

Ballet center — adagio, waltz with extensions and pirouettes, petit and grand allegro

Modern/Contemporary combination or improvisation

Pointe work is optional

Brief break between Ballet and Modern portions

The Störling audition comes first; accepted students are then invited to complete the Visible Music College entrance application

Störling currently publishes 2026–27 audition dates and states that recorded-video auditions are being accepted

Important Notes

The $50 Störling application fee is waived for students who attend the Störling Conservatory Experience

What's The Process

Audition Process

Enrollment begins with a Störling Conservatory audition

Audition in person at The Culture House or submit a recorded-video audition online

Upon artistic acceptance, applicants are invited to submit the Visible Music College entrance application

Audition Expectations

Check-in begins 30 minutes before the audition; studio space is generally available at that time

Auditions include ballet, modern, contemporary or improvisation, and optional pointe

Scholarship Info

Early-Bird Scholarship

$500 scholarship for students who audition at the first Störling Conservatory Experience, complete registration and application forms with the $50 fee, and enroll early

Tch Works Program

Work-exchange program at The Culture House

$2,000 off per year (80 hrs/semester, ~5 hrs/week)

$1,000 off per year (40 hrs/semester, ~2.5 hrs/week)

$500 off per year (20 hrs/semester, ~1.25 hrs/week)
