Songs
TWO 16-BAR SELECTIONS
•One up-tempo selection, 16 bars
•One ballad selection, 16 bars
•Bring a marked copy of your sheet music
Monologues
TWO MONOLOGUES, 1.5 min each (3 min total)
•One comedic monologue
•One dramatic monologue
•Must be from modern or contemporary plays (musical or non-musical theatre)
•No classical monologues
•Both monologues must be fully memorized
•Transition between pieces included in the 3-minute time slot
SLATE
•State your name and current educational institution
•Give a simple end slate
•Slates are not counted in the time limit
Dance
BALLET AND JAZZ COMBINATION
•Learn and perform a ballet combination taught by faculty
•Learn and perform a jazz combination taught by faculty
•Students will be grouped and perform together
•After ballet, students may keep shoes on for jazz portion
•Bring all dance shoes

ELIGIBILITY
•Must have degree-seeking student status at Valencia College
•Auditions held annually for the upcoming fall term
PROVISIONAL STATUS
•Students not admitted may take classes as provisional students
•Provisional students can complete general education courses and further training
•Provisional students may re-audition the following year
What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Full-day in-person audition on Valencia College East Campus
•Three components: dance, vocal, and acting
AUDITION DAY SCHEDULE
•8:00 AM — Registration, Building 3 Atrium
•8:15 AM — Warm-up for dance
•9:00-11:00 AM — Dance auditions, Performing Arts Center
•11:00-11:30 AM — Lunch break and vocal warm-ups
•11:30 AM-1:15 PM — Acting Auditions I (Black Box Theater) and Vocal Auditions I (Bandroom 3-126)
•1:15-1:30 PM — Break
•1:30-3:15 PM — Acting Auditions II and Vocal Auditions II
ACCEPTANCE
•Based on successful audition and degree-seeking student status at Valencia College
