Songs
TWO CONTRASTING SONGS FROM THE MUSICAL THEATRE REPERTOIRE, 60 sec each max
•ONE BALLAD and ONE UP-TEMPO
•One song should be written before 1975
•Both songs should be appropriate for your age, vocal range, and personality
ACCOMPANIMENT
•On-campus: accompanist provided, or bring your own, or use prerecorded
•Chicago Unified/virtual: provide your own recorded accompaniment
•Sound equipment provided to connect to headphone jack of your device
Monologues
ONE CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE, 60 sec max
•From a contemporary realistic play
•Either comic or serious
•Should be appropriate for your age, personality, and character type
Dance
GROUP DANCE CALL (on-campus auditions only)
•Held at mid-point of audition day
•Wear clothes you can move freely in
•Tap shoes not required
•Time to change from audition attire will be provided
CHICAGO UNIFIED AUDITIONS
•No dance call at this location

ENROLLMENT
•Must be accepted to UW-Stevens Point before being admitted to the department
•Limited number of new students accepted each year
What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Three parts: singing, acting, and dancing
•Total audition time (songs + monologue) must not exceed 3 minutes — you will be timed
•On-campus auditions include a group dance call
AUDITION LOCATIONS
•In-person auditions only — on campus and at Chicago Unified Auditions
•Chicago Unified: no dance call at this location
DUAL AUDITION OPTION
•Students auditioning for both MT and Acting should follow MT requirements
•BFA Acting faculty may request a second monologue if time permits
