Monologues
TWO CONTRASTING MONOLOGUES, 60-90 sec each
•ONE SERIOUS MONOLOGUE from a published play (20th century to present)
-Film in close-up shot (top of head to chest visible)
•ONE COMIC MONOLOGUE from a published play (20th century to present)
-Film in full-body shot (top of head to feet visible)
•No monologues from television shows or movies
•No accents, eccentric characterizations, props, or costumes
•Portray one character per monologue — choose a character within 5-10 years of your playable age range
•Each piece must be filmed and uploaded as a separate video
Additional Materials
RESUME (required)
•Include theatre training or experience, academic achievements, work experience, and community service
•Submit in PDF format
HEADSHOT (required)
ESSAY (required)
•1-2 page essay summarizing your reasons for pursuing a major in theatre
SLATE VIDEO
•Slate should appear at the beginning of each piece
•Share your name, the title of the play, and the playwright
•Each piece must be filmed and uploaded as a separate video

What's The Process
PRESCREEN
•Submit all materials via Acceptd beginning September 1
•Rolling deadline — submit materials as early as possible
INTERVIEW
•Required in-person or live Zoom interview after Acceptd materials are reviewed
•Once Acceptd application is submitted, you will be directed to schedule your interview
•In-person interview days may include facility tours, meeting faculty, attending classes, and seeing performances

DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
•Approximately $8,000-$10,000 awarded annually across the department
•Based on participation, scholastic achievement, and financial need
•Named awards include Marie Park Toland Scholarship, Helen Leide Fund, Tinapp/Joyce Scholarship, Robert & Kip Frederick Fund, Music Theatre Scholarship, Peter Talen Memorial Scholarship, and Children's Theatre Scholarship
•Preference for students from underrepresented groups
