Admission Pathway

•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement assessment for course placement only; it does not affect admission

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Step 1: Apply to UTRGV through ApplyTexas

•Step 2: Submit the School of Music Audition Request Form (Microsoft Forms)

•Composers must pass both an instrument/voice performance audition and a composition portfolio review

Audition Expectations

•Perform an audition on your principal instrument or voice type using that area's standard repertoire

•An accompanist is provided for officially scheduled live audition dates

Scholarship Info

•Music scholarships are awarded through the audition

•Students residing in TMEA Region 15 or Region 28 must audition in person to be considered for a music scholarship

•Students outside those regions may submit a video audition and still be considered for admission
