Monologues
ONE CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE (recommended, not required)
•Video monologue, approximately 1-minute in length
•A contemporary monologue (within last 20 years) is recommended, though not required
Additional Materials
•College of Fine Arts application
•HEADSHOT (does not have to be professional — clear image taken on mobile device is acceptable)
WORK SAMPLES (submit one or more of the following)
•PORTFOLIO of up to 10 images or files showcasing work in theatrical production or research
-Notes, blocking notations, scene breakdowns, call-sheets, script with cues, cue list, rehearsal notes
-Research, sketches, mood boards, renderings, models, light plots, draftings, production photos, audio design clips
-Sewing, tailoring, woodworking, drawing and painting samples
-Playbills/posters designed, marketing materials, fundraising plans, budgets
•VIDEO MONOLOGUE (approximately 1 minute — see monologue requirements)

•Submit prescreen materials via Theatre and Dance application portal (accessible through MyStatus after Common App submission)
IMPORTANT NOTES
•College of Fine Arts does not participate in Early Action — Fine Arts applicants who apply early by October 15 will receive admission decisions by February 15
What's The Process
CALLBACK
•Select applicants may be invited to attend an in-person or virtual callback interview/audition
•Callback invitations sent December through January
DECISION TIMELINE
•First-year admission decisions disbursed no later than February 15
•External transfer notices typically distributed in mid-late June
•Current UT students receive notification through internal transfer application portal in June
Scholarship Info
•Department's scholarship committee awards merit and financial need-based scholarships to incoming students. No separate scholarship application required — students who fully complete their application are automatically considered for departmental funding. Department also awards scholarships to continuing students.
