Audition Requirements

Dance

Ballet Barre

10-minute ballet barre including plies, tendus/degages, rond de jambe, frappe, fondu/developpe

Across the floor: battements front and side, pirouettes (parallel or turned out), grand jete or saut de chat

Modern or Contemporary Solo

1-1.5 minute solo required

Additional Solo

1-1.5 minute solo in another style of your choice (optional)

Program Requirements

Declared majors must pass a second-year continuation review in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and brain-compatible teaching methods

Transfer students admitted with 60 credits or junior status must complete the admission audition but are exempt from the second-year review

Senior capstone project required in the final year (DAN 450 Senior Capstone Project)

Transfer Pathway

Dance transfer applicants admitted with 60 credits or junior status receive advanced standing: they must complete the program admission audition but are exempt from the second-year continuation review.

Up to $14,000 over four years ($3,500 per year)

Qualifications

New entering student (fall term entry only)

Completed admissions application and acceptance for full-time study

Declared major in Dance

Applied understanding of body knowledge and movement vocabulary

Unweighted high school GPA of 3.0

Must maintain cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
