Application Logistics
•Apply to the university via Common App or the USAO admissions portal
•Complete the music audition process on your primary instrument or voice before acceptance into the music major
•Schedule an in-person music audition using the USAO music audition form or submit recorded materials by email
Eligibility
•This program prepares students for Oklahoma PK-12 music teaching certification
•Vocal/choral candidates may use voice or piano as the primary area
•Instrumental candidates may use a concert band instrument as the primary area; guitar is not available for teacher certification
Important Notes
•At least two summer terms may be necessary to complete the program within four years
•Teacher education admission, professional portfolio, background-check, and state certification requirements also apply
