Application Logistics
•Bullet: Apply to the university via Common App or the USAO admissions portal
•Bullet: Complete the music audition process on your primary instrument or voice before acceptance into the music major
•Bullet: Schedule an in-person music audition using the USAO music audition form or submit recorded materials by email
Eligibility
•Bullet: This program prepares students for Oklahoma PK-12 music teaching certification
•Bullet: Vocal/choral candidates may use voice or piano as the primary area
•Bullet: Instrumental candidates may use a concert band instrument as the primary area; guitar is not available for teacher certification
Important Notes
•Bullet: At least two summer terms may be necessary to complete the program within four years
•Bullet: Teacher education admission, professional portfolio, background-check, and state certification requirements also apply
