Audition Requirements
Songs
TWO CONTRASTING SELECTIONS
•Prepare 2 contrasting selections in English, Italian, German, French, and/or Spanish
•Classical repertoire preferred
•Musical theater and folk songs also acceptable
•Must sing to musical accompaniment — collaborative pianist provided
PREPARATION
•Bring a clean copy of your music double-sided, in a three-ring binder or on an iPad for the collaborative pianist
•Sight-reading: there will be a short selection to sight read

•Audition registration deadline: February 13, 2026
•Sign up via the Department of Music audition form
•Virtual auditions available upon request — contact musicscholarships@unm.edu
CFA ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
•Minimum 26 hours of earned credit with 2.50 GPA
•Approval to Concentrate in voice requires completion of first 2 semesters of Applied Music
•English and math competency requirements (see university admissions)

•Applications accepted for fall and spring semesters only
