Application Logistics

Audition for admission to the BA in Dance is held once each year on the last Friday of January

Apply to UNM first, then apply to the College of Fine Arts as a declared major

Enrollment

Applications are accepted for fall and spring semesters only

What's The Process

Audition Process

No prior experience in every dance form is expected; faculty evaluate engagement and adaptability

Participate in ballet, modern/contemporary, flamenco, and improvisation

Prepare a one-minute solo in a chosen dance form, with recorded music, an accompanist, or silence

Arrive by 9:40 a.m. for registration

Morning classes run 10:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m.; solo presentations and brief interviews run 1:00–5:00 p.m
