Audition Requirements
Dance
FULL-DAY AUDITION
•Ballet barre, center, and across the floor combinations
•Modern/contemporary center and across the floor combinations
•Flamenco footwork and center combinations
•Improvisation
SOLO PRESENTATION
•Prepare a one-minute solo in your chosen dance form
•May be original choreography, previously learned repertory, or material from a technique class
•May be performed with recorded music, with your own accompanist, or in silence
WHAT FACULTY LOOK FOR
•Engagement with familiar and unfamiliar material
•Ability to adapt across different movement practices
•Demonstrated focus, effort, and curiosity
Good to Know
AUDITION SCHEDULE
•Auditions held once per year on the last Friday of January
•No separate application portal — admission is through the CFA audition process
CFA ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
•Minimum 26 hours of earned credit with 2.50 GPA
•English and math competency requirements (see university admissions)
ENROLLMENT
•Applications accepted for fall and spring semesters only
What's The Process
AUDITION DAY
•Arrive by 9:40 a.m. to complete registration form (20 minutes before start)
•Morning session: 10:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (ballet, modern, flamenco, improv)
•Lunch break: 12:15 – 1:00 p.m.
•Afternoon session: 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. (solo presentations and interviews in alphabetical order, ~10-minute intervals)
•Plan to remain available until approximately 5:00 p.m.
IMPORTANT
•No prior experience in all dance forms is expected — faculty evaluate engagement and adaptability
•Come dressed and prepared to participate in all areas

•All Theatre, Design, and Dance majors eligible for annual scholarships
