Audition Requirements

Repertoire List (Required)

Prepare two contrasting pieces for the audition; at least one classical piece is preferred; unedited recordings are accepted as one complete performance of both pieces

Letters of Recommendation (Required)

First-year applicants: one letter from a high school music teacher or private instructor, emailed to music@uwsuper.edu before the audition

Transfer applicants: at least one letter from a university ensemble director or applied music teacher, addressed to Music Department Faculty and sent to music@uwsuper.edu

No application fee for domestic students

Schedule the music audition through the Music Department form

Staff follow up within one to two business days after the audition form is submitted

A minor is required for the Bachelor of Arts in Music (120 total credits)

Bachelor of Arts world or indigenous language requirement applies

Admission Pathway

Admitted music majors take keyboard, music theory, and music history placement evaluations for course placement only — not for admission

What's The Process

Audition Process

All prospective music majors must audition for admission to the Music Department

Audition takes place after admission to the university, performed on the student's instrument or voice

Prospective students are encouraged to visit campus, receive a free lesson, and attend ensemble rehearsals
