Bring sheet music for each song for the university-provided pianist

Audition Requirements

Songs

Two Contrasting Musical-Theatre Songs

Repertoire: two contrasting songs from musical-theatre repertoire; opera is not accepted

Duration: prepare an approximately one-minute cut of each song and know the complete songs in case the panel asks for more

Performance: expect to sing one cut and be ready to sing both

Accompaniment: bring sheet music for the university-provided pianist; backing tracks are not used

Contrast: vary period, style, tempo, or vocal quality to demonstrate range

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue

Repertoire: choose a post-1960 contemporary monologue

Duration: no more than one minute

Tone: comedic or serious

Dance

Dance Call

A short choreography sequence is taught in the room; no prepared dance is required

The panel looks primarily for storytelling and character through movement, alongside technique

Attire

Wear dancewear or non-restricting sportswear

Most international applicants can apply through Oxford International; the course page links the direct application route

What's The Process

Audition Process

The live group audition includes a taught dance call, vocal audition, contemporary monologue, and seminar-style interview

Most sessions are held in person at Winchester; an online Microsoft Teams session may be possible subject to availability and course requirements
