Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2024 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Monologues

Two Contrasting Speeches / Pieces

•Piece 1: one speech from a classical verse text (Greek, Elizabethan, Jacobean, Restoration, etc.)

•Piece 2: either a contemporary text from 1956 to the present or an original performance piece in any form

•Duration: no longer than two minutes per piece

•Contrast: choose pieces that demonstrate range

•Apply through UCAS using institution code W76 and course code W410

•Shortlisted applicants are invited to the group workshop, audition, and interview

•UCAS opens 2027 submissions on September 1, 2026; equal consideration is January 13, 2027

Transfer Pathway

Applicants may request advanced standing through Recognition of Prior Learning. Winchester requires transcripts plus module handbooks or programme specifications, and the programme team decides whether advanced entry is possible.
