•Bullet: The Bachelor of Arts in Music studies music within a broader cultural context and does not require an audition or individual lessons on an instrument or voice.
Training
•Bullet: BA Music students build their program from named UVic Music courses open to BA and Music Minor students, including Popular Music, Great Film Music, Global Soundscapes, Western Music History, Sound Recording Techniques, and Music, Science and Computers.
•Bullet: BA Music students may also join named UVic ensembles including University Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Concert Band, Jazz and Creative Music Ensemble, University Chorus, Chamber Singers, Vikes Band, and Sonic Lab: Laptop Ensemble.
•Bullet: Classical, jazz, rock, pop, singer-songwriter, and electronic musicians can refine their skills within this flexible four-year degree.
Professional Development
•Bullet: Prepares students for graduate study or careers in administration, media, journalism, and event production.

•Bullet: UVic describes its School of Music as Canada's only all-Steinway school, with more than 60 pianos.
