Training
•Voice studies in BM Performance provide broad and deep performance-based training for students pursuing professional music careers.
•Students study songs, chamber works, choral music, and opera of the classical repertoire, with options across jazz, musical theatre, popular music, early music, pedagogy, and related fields.
•Individual instruction and specialized voice-area courses support lyric diction, Italian vocal repertoire, German Lieder, French melodie, oratorio, audition technique, and operatic role study.
Performance & Productions
•Voice students have frequent public performance opportunities and may participate in two major U of T Opera productions in years 3 and 4.
•The program prepares singers for solo, choral, artist-teacher, and arts leadership paths.
