•Housed in the University of Redlands Conservatory of Music (renamed from the School of Music in 2022), accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 1945
•General Music Studies is the BA's flexible liberal-arts track — fewer applied-performance credits than the BM, leaving room for double majors, study abroad, and electives across the College of Arts and Sciences
Training
•Core grounding in music theory, history, and applied lessons within a liberal-arts curriculum, designed for students pairing music with another field rather than a single performance focus
•Access to the Conservatory's Kodály Pedagogy faculty and the same theory/history sequence taken by BM majors
Performance & Productions
•200+ campus performances annually, including the signature holiday tradition Feast of Lights in Memorial Chapel
•Ensembles open to BA students: Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Chapel Singers, University Choir, Opera Theater Workshop, Studio Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble
•University Concerto Competition winner performs with the professional Redlands Symphony Orchestra on its subscription series; top students are invited to the President's Honor Recital (held annually since 1983)

•John Raitt — Redlands graduate; originated Billy Bigelow in the original Broadway cast of Carousel •Angel Blue — Grammy-winning soprano (Best Opera Recording for the Met's Porgy and Bess); earned her Redlands music degree in 2005
