Audition Application
•After applying to UNI, complete the online School of Music audition application to submit your information and schedule your audition
Repertoire List
•Prepared repertoire is set by your instrument family; choose contrasting selections that show musicianship, tone quality, technique, and range
•Brass: a required etude, one work from the area repertoire list, and two-octave scales (three scales, varying by instrument); sight-reading included (none for euphonium or tuba)
•Woodwinds: two contrasting selections, or one longer piece with contrasting sections (bassoon adds one major and one minor scale)
•Strings: any etude and two contrasting short pieces or movements, plus scales (two octaves for bass; three octaves for violin, viola, and cello); harp prepares an etude and two contrasting pieces
•Guitar: two contrasting classical guitar pieces, a G major scale in three octaves, and a C#/Db major scale in two octaves
•Piano: three contrasting works from three historical periods, at least two memorized, plus scales and arpeggios
•Organ: two works from different historical periods, a prepared hymn, and sight-reading (no memorization required)
•Percussion: at least one etude, excerpt, or piece on concert snare drum, two-mallet keyboard percussion, and timpani
