Audition Process
•Apply to UNCW via Common App AND audition for Department of Music
•Department acceptance does not guarantee university admission
•Audition application due at least two weeks before requested audition date
•Available via Acceptd only when travel to UNCW would be a hardship
•Recorded auditions NOT accepted for scholarship consideration

Audition Expectations
•Live audition on campus, approximately 10 minutes
•Bring your own accompanist if needed, or request one with two weeks notice
•Includes sight-reading a simple melody and selected technical exercises
•Evaluated on vocal potential, expression, and basic musical skills
Post-Enrollment
•Theory Placement Exam administered on audition day
•Covers note names, scales, intervals, triads, sight-singing, and melodic dictation
•Results determine placement within the music theory sequence
