Audition Requirements

Repertoire

Brass, woodwinds, strings, or harp applicants prepare repertoire on their primary instrument

Brass: two brief, contrasting etudes

Woodwinds: two contrasting pieces, or one piece with contrasting styles

Strings: two contrasting solos or etudes (one technical, one lyrical)

Scales & Technique

Brass: three chromatically adjacent major scales with arpeggios (two-octave preferred) plus a two-octave chromatic scale

Woodwinds: three chromatically adjacent major scales plus a chromatic scale

Strings: two major or minor scales

A short sight-reading excerpt is provided at the audition

Application Logistics

Apply to UNA first, then complete the UNA School of the Arts audition application separately

Ensemble auditions may use the same materials, but all studio requirements must be completed separately
